Origin and character background
Bellatrix Lestrange is Lord Voldemort’s most zealous, cruel and loyal lieutenant amongst the Death Eaters. Descended from the noble Black family, she wields the dark arts with terrifying sadism, using this silver-plated dagger as a secondary weapon during physical confrontations. This weapon plays a tragic and decisive role at the end of the first part of the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and their companions escape from Malfoy Manor thanks to Dobby’s magic, Bellatrix hurls this blade of rage through the Portkey vortex. The dagger strikes the house-elf fatally in the heart, transforming this object into one of the most feared symbols of the Second Wizarding War.
