Origin and character background
Purchased by Rubeus Hagrid from a Greek acquaintance in an Irish pub, Fluffy was entrusted to Albus Dumbledore to guard the secret trapdoor leading to the Philosopher’s Stone between 1991 and 1992. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry, Ron and Hermione accidentally come face-to-face with the monster whilst trying to escape the caretaker Argus Filch. Despite his apparent ferocity, the Cerberus has an unusual weakness: he falls asleep instantly at the first notes of music. This exceptional diorama, created by The Noble Collection, captures the monster on the wooden floor of the Forbidden Chamber on the second floor. The creature’s three heads are sculpted with impressive dynamism: the first is depicted asleep, the second looking mischievous and the third fully awake, its jaws slightly parted. The textures of his brown fur, his massive musculature and the realistic rendering of the strings of the enchanted harp left by his side lend a striking depth to the scene. The illustrated background, made from premium removable cardboard, reinforces the dark and hushed atmosphere of this iconic Hogwarts room.
