Origin and background of the character
Initially hidden in the school dungeons by Hagrid, Aragog is put in danger by Tom Riddle, who accuses Hagrid of opening the Chamber of Secrets and attempts to capture the acromentula to frame him. She manages to escape into the Forbidden Forest, where Hagrid later brings her a mate, Mosag, with whom she establishes her colony. Harry and Ron meet her in the book Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Although the spider has never harmed a human out of respect for her saviour, she has no qualms about offering the two boys as a meal to her gigantic offspring. This magnificent diorama, designed by The Noble Collection, captures all of Aragog’s sinister and imposing nature. He is depicted lurking at the back of his forest lair, amidst thick spiderwebs and intertwined roots. The meticulous sculpting of his eight glassy black eyes, sharp mandibles and the greyish, hairy texture of his body lends a striking sense of realism. The removable illustrated backdrop integrated into the clear display case accentuates the dark and oppressive atmosphere of the Forbidden Forest. A first-rate choice for collectors keen to add a legendary and terrifying creature to their Wizarding World display.
