"Pom Poko" (Heisei Tanuki Gassen Ponpoko), also known as The Raccoon War, is a captivating animated comedy-drama film by Studio Ghibli, released on July 16, 1994. This film, the first feature-length film produced at Ghibli's new Koganei studio and the first original work by director Isao Takahata, chronicles the adventures of tanuki (raccoon dogs) as they fight to protect their forest from urban development.
