Character background and lore

Nekomata Okayu is a Japanese VTuber and member of the Hololive Gamers unit. Her character is portrayed as a cat raised by a grandmother who runs an onigiri shop, from whose bedroom she streams online. She is best known for her content focusing on video games, singing and her relaxed interactions with her community.

Her design is based on a feline identity, recognisable by her ears, tail and mauve hair. Her calm demeanour, soothing voice and mischievous sense of humour have helped her become one of the iconic figures of Hololive Gamers, alongside Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio and Inugami Korone, amongst others.
