Origin and background of the character
Gon Freecss is the central protagonist of the legendary manga Hunter x Hunter, created by Yoshihiro Togashi in 1998. Raised by his aunt Mito on Whale Island, this twelve-year-old boy possesses highly developed senses and an exceptional natural affinity with animals. Upon discovering that his father, Ging – whom he believed to be dead – is in fact one of the world’s greatest and most mysterious Hunters, Gon decides to leave his home island to sit the formidable annual Hunters’ exam. Driven by unwavering moral integrity, a pure spirit of adventure and unshakeable determination, he wants to understand what drove his father to abandon him in favour of this perilous profession. During his journey, his sunny disposition and absolute loyalty enable him to forge deep friendships with Killua, Kurapika and Leorio, helping him to overcome trials of strength and master the complex mysteries of Nen energy.
