Character background and lore

Giorno Giovanna is the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind. Born Haruno Shiobana, he is the son of DIO, conceived whilst the latter was using Jonathan Joestar’s body, which gives him a very special connection to the two central lineages of the saga.

Living in Italy, Giorno harbours a clear ambition: to become a ‘Gang-Star’, a gangster capable of transforming the mafia from within and putting an end to the drug trafficking that is destroying the lives of young people. His journey leads him to join the Passione organisation and the team led by Bruno Bucciarati.

His Stand, Gold Experience, has the power to bring inanimate objects to life by transforming them into plants or animals. Giorno uses this ability in an extremely inventive way, whether to fight, to heal, or to come up with unexpected solutions during battles.

Calm, determined and possessing a keen sense of justice, Giorno combines several traits characteristic of the Joestar family’s heroes with a more calculated and strategic ambition.
