Origin and character lore

Johnny Joestar is the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run. A former equestrian prodigy, he loses the use of his legs following an event that profoundly upends his life. His life takes a new direction when he meets Gyro Zeppeli and discovers the mysterious properties of the technique known as ‘Spin’.

Johnny then decides to take part in the Steel Ball Run, a massive horse race across the United States. His motivation soon goes beyond simply winning: his journey becomes a personal quest for self-rediscovery, during which he gradually develops his Stand, Tusk.

Gyro Zeppeli, for his part, is a horseman from the Kingdom of Naples and a master of the Spin technique, which he employs using his famous Steel Balls. Charismatic, eccentric and extremely experienced in combat, he becomes Johnny’s mentor and then his true travelling companion.

Their relationship forms one of the narrative pillars of *Steel Ball Run*. Initially brought together by mutual interest, Johnny and Gyro gradually develop a deep trust and friendship as they face off against other competitors, Stand users and the conspiracies surrounding the race.

This ‘The Gathering of Stars’ figurine is therefore particularly symbolic: unlike the first six pieces in the collection, each dedicated to a single protagonist, it depicts Johnny and Gyro together, reflecting the fundamental importance of their partnership in Steel Ball Run.
