Meet Derpy Tiger, the supernatural creature who has become one of the most popular mascots of K-Pop Demon Hunters, with this Funko POP! Jumbo figure No. 2534. Its large size really shows off the blue tiger’s deliberately expressive and endearing appearance, whilst retaining the instantly recognisable style of Funko figures.

Origin and character background (Lore)

Derpy Tiger is a supernatural tiger from the demon world in K-Pop Demon Hunters. He first appears alongside Jinu, before developing a particularly strong bond with Rumi. Despite his demonic origins, Derpy stands out for his clumsy, affectionate behaviour, which is very much like that of a giant domestic cat.

The character is inspired by the babo horangi, or ‘foolish tiger’, a recurring figure in Korean minhwa folk art from the Joseon era. This traditional reference explains his appearance, which is both imposing and deliberately comical, with an expression that contrasts sharply with the tiger’s usual ferocious image.

Derpy is also associated with Sussie, a supernatural magpie who accompanies her on her travels. Together, they act as messengers between Rumi and Jinu, with Derpy even delivering certain messages in a particularly original way.

Thanks to his blend of clumsiness, loyalty and references to Korean folklore, Derpy Tiger has quickly established himself as one of the most endearing characters in K-Pop Demon Hunters. This POP! Jumbo No. 2534 version really showcases her design in a format intended to take pride of place in a display cabinet.
