Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are four mutant brothers trained in martial arts by their master, Splinter. Living in the sewers of New York, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo protect the city from numerous criminals, mutants and alien invaders.

Each turtle has a distinct personality and a favourite weapon: Leonardo is the disciplined leader of the group and wields two katanas; Raphael, who is more impulsive, fights with sai; Donatello is the team’s inventor and uses a bō staff; Michelangelo, an enthusiastic pizza lover, is usually armed with nunchucks.
