Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

Stitch, also known as Experiment 626, is an alien creature created by the scientist Jumba Jookiba. He possesses exceptional strength, great intelligence and particularly high resilience, but was originally designed to wreak havoc and cause destruction.

After escaping from the Galactic Federation, Stitch arrives on Earth and takes refuge in Hawaii. To evade his pursuers, he disguises himself as a dog and is adopted by Lilo Pelekai, a young girl living with her older sister Nani.

Lilo gradually teaches him the meaning of‘ohana’, a principle whereby a family must never abandon or forget any of its members. Thanks to this bond, Stitch overcomes his destructive programming and becomes a loyal and protective companion.

Angel, also known asExperiment 624, is a genetically engineered creature created before Stitch. Her pink appearance, large ears and long antennae are strikingly similar to the appearance of Experiment 626.

Angel possesses a special ability linked to her singing. When sung backwards, her melody can reactivate the destructive instincts of Experiments who have become benevolent. When sung forwards, however, it cancels out this effect.

Initially used to manipulate Stitch, Angel eventually develops a genuine affection for him. Their bond, their mischievous nature and their complementary colours explain why they are regularly featured together on Disney clothing and accessories.

This blanket thus brings together two extraterrestrial beings who have gradually moved beyond their original purpose to discover friendship, attachment and a sense of belonging to a family.
