Origin and character background (Lore)

Stitch, also known asExperiment 626, is an alien creature created by the scientist Jumba Jookiba. Designed to be extremely strong, intelligent and almost indestructible, he also has a particularly mischievous personality and a natural instinct for destruction.

After escaping from captivity, Stitch arrives on Earth and crashes in Hawaii. To evade those searching for him, he disguises himself as a dog and is adopted by a young girl named Lilo Pelekai.

Lilo has been living with her older sister Nani since their parents went missing. Despite Stitch’s unpredictable behaviour, she decides to welcome him into their family and teaches him the Hawaiian principle of‘ohana’, which holds that a family must never abandon or forget any of its members.

Through his time with Lilo, Stitch gradually discovers friendship, affection and a sense of belonging. Although he had been created solely to wreak havoc, he ultimately chooses to protect his new family and stay with them.
