Origin and character lore

The Marsupilami is an imaginary creature native to the tropical rainforest of Palombia. Recognisable by its yellow fur speckled with black, its exceptional strength and, above all, its very long prehensile tail, which it can use as a spring, a means of transport or a tool for self-defence.

Curious, playful and particularly protective of its family, the Marsupilami communicates notably through its famous cry, ‘Houba!’. Its adventures blend humour, action and a love of nature, making it one of the most iconic characters in Franco-Belgian comics.
