Marvel – Mole Man & Moloids – Set of 3 Marvel Legends Series figures – 15 cm

Delve beneath the Earth’s surface with this Marvel Legends Series set featuring Mole Man and two Moloids, designed by Hasbro based on their appearance in the Fantastic Four comics. This collectable set allows you to recreate the Fantastic Four’s first encounters with the ruler of Subterranea and his loyal subterranean creatures.

The set includes a Mole Man figure, recognisable by his stocky build, dark cape, protective goggles and staff. He is accompanied by two Moloids, the humanoid inhabitants of the underground world he rules and regularly uses as soldiers.

All three figures are in the Marvel Legends collectible format, measuring approximately 15 cm. Their sculpting and detailing are directly inspired by the comics, featuring classic colours and proportions suited to display alongside the members of the Fantastic Four.

The set includes eight accessories, including alternative hands and heads, as well as Mole Man’s staff. These interchangeable parts allow you to change the characters’ expressions and poses to create different scenes inspired by the adventures of the Fantastic Four.

Origin and character lore

Mole Man, whose real name is Harvey Rupert Elder, is one of the Fantastic Four’s oldest enemies. He first appeared in the very first issue of Fantastic Four, published in 1961, making him the first adversary the team faced in the Marvel comics.

Rejected by society because of his appearance and personality, Harvey Elder gradually withdraws from the world above ground. During his explorations, he discovers Subterranea, a vast network of caverns and kingdoms located beneath the Earth’s crust.

In this underground world, he encounters the Moloids, a humanoid species adapted to life in the darkness. These creatures become his subjects and recognise his authority, allowing Harvey Elder to take the title of Mole Man.

Mole Man uses his scientific knowledge, his mastery of the underground and the resources of Subterranea to prepare various attacks against the surface world. His staff serves as both a weapon and a tool of command, whilst his goggles protect his eyes, which have become extremely sensitive to light.

The Moloids form the bulk of his army. Although they are often portrayed as obedient servants, they constitute a genuine underground civilisation with their own communities, structures and way of life.

Mole Man also commands various gigantic creatures living underground. During his first confrontation with the Fantastic Four, he notably used monsters to attack surface installations and defend his kingdom.

His opposition to the heroes stems as much from his desire for revenge as from his need to protect Subterranea. Depending on the story, Mole Man may thus be portrayed as a conqueror, a dangerous scientist or a ruler defending his territory against intrusions from the outside world.
