Origin and world of the character
Mace Windu is a major character in the Star Wars fictional universe, introduced by George Lucas in the cinematic prequel (Episodes I, II and III). Originally from the planet Haruun Kal, he is a Jedi Master and a member of the Restricted Council of the Jedi Order, which he leads alongside Grand Master Yoda. Recognised as one of the most powerful warriors and tacticians in Jedi history, he is the creator of the Vaapad, a highly demanding style of lightsabre combat. He is visually distinguished by his use of a weapon with a purple blade, a rarity among his peers. During the Clone Wars, he served as General-in-Chief of the Galactic Republic Army, leading his troops in a number of strategic engagements against Separatist forces.
