Character background and lore

Steve is one of Minecraft’s classic default skins and one of the franchise’s most instantly recognisable faces, alongside Alex. In the game, he is not a hero with a pre-determined backstory: above all, he represents the player who explores an open world, gathers resources, crafts their own equipment, builds freely and faces hostile creatures that appear, particularly at nightfall.

Diamond armour has long been one of Minecraft’s best-known symbols of progression. Diamonds are used, in particular, to craft exceptionally durable weapons, tools and armour. The introduction of Netherite has since added a higher tier of equipment, but diamond armour remains a major milestone in progression in Survival mode.

Horses can be found in plains and savannahs, tamed and then fitted with a saddle to serve as mounts. They can also be fitted with specific armour. The diorama thus combines several elements typical of an advanced stage in Minecraft: a well-equipped Steve, a protected mount and a sword ready to face the dangers of the Overworld.
