Character background and universe (Lore)

All Might, whose real name is Toshinori Yagi, is one of the most important figures in My Hero Academia, a manga created by Kohei Horikoshi. For many years, he has embodied the Symbol of Peace, a hero whose mere presence is enough to deter the vast majority of criminals.

All Might is one of the bearers of the legendary One For All, a Quirk passed down from generation to generation and capable of amassing phenomenal physical power. After choosing Izuku Midoriya as his successor, he gradually passes on his power to him before permanently losing the ability to fight in his traditional heroic form.

However, the Armoured All Might version marks his return to the battlefield. Now deprived of One For All, Toshinori uses a high-tech suit of armour to face opponents he could no longer contend with using his physical abilities alone. This armour features numerous pieces of equipment and functions inspired by the powers and techniques of his former pupils.

This incarnation perfectly symbolises the character’s evolution: even without his Alter form, All Might refuses to abandon his role as a hero. Armoured All Might thus represents not so much raw power as determination, courage and the will to continue protecting others, even when all limits seem to have been reached.
