The Prophecy of the Great Patriarch said: ‘You will be a guide for this reformer. Until the day you are forced to make a difficult choice’.
We decided to immortalise this powerful moment by creating a 1/8 HQS statue by Tsume, paying tribute to the legendary ninja hero! While this statue is impressively dynamic, its main focus is on the intense emotion that arises at the very heart of the action, like a freeze frame: that of a final heartbeat, a last will that will resolutely change the course of the future...
The scene takes place in Nagato's home village of Ame, in the Land of Rain. Behind the rocky slab where Jiraya lies dying are imposing sewage pipes and their grates, covered in a metallic paint that mixes shades of copper, brown, black and grey for a realistic look. Under the force of the attack by the 5 ninjas encircling Jiraya, the bluish transparent resin water is unleashed and foam forms. The legendary ninja begins what he knows will be his final battle: the time has come for him to make his difficult choice! Determined to unmask Pain, he recognises Yahiko, one of his former students who has lost his life. Wearing Tendô, he wears Pain's purple ring on his thumb and takes on the role of leader, standing above and in the centre of the 4 other ninjas.
These former shinobi, once defeated by Jiraya, all wear the long black coat featuring the Akatsuki symbol, painted in shades of black, grey and burgundy and then covered with a matt varnish to achieve a result faithful to the licence. Their hair is painted in a gradation of light and darker oranges, while their crossed-out forehead band indicates that they have deserted the Rain Village. Their pupils are formed by concentric circles of grey and purple... Rinnegan d?jutsu... Nagato! The dozens of metal piercings implanted in the corpses of the ninjas served as chakra transmitters and receivers, allowing Nagato to control them remotely... Just as Jiraya had his answer, 5 spears pierced his back, staining his long white hair with blood. Bathed in his own blood, made of transparent reddish varnished resin, the condemned man remembers Naruto's unfailing determination... A memory that would allow his heart to beat one last time, in a final effort to accomplish his mission. His mouth grimacing and bloodied, his gaze glassy but determined, he carves a coded message on Fukasaku's back with his fingertips, using his chakra made of transparent bluish resin, his arm pierced by the spear of the eliminated 6th Pain. The toad, like Jiraya, shows an expression of pain but also obstinacy: now the key to stopping Pain, he's about to deliver this crucial message... With Jiraya in agony, the 5 Pain leap on him to execute him, their robes thrown back by the speed of their movement.
His duty accomplished, the legendary ninja let himself be carried serenely into the depths of the abyss. His last thoughts were on his next novel, which he decided to call ‘The Story of Naruto Uzumaki’, because he was now certain: it was indeed him, the son of prophecy!
