Having become the greatest puppeteer in history, he took his macabre experiments to the point of creating ‘human puppets’ from the corpses of elite ninjas to preserve their chakra and techniques, even going so far as to transform his own physical form into a wooden puppet studded with poisoned weapons. A member of the Akatsuki criminal organisation, he teams up with Deidara and uses his chakra threads to manipulate his deadly creations, establishing himself as a ruthless opponent of surgical cruelty.
