Origin and background of the character
Marshall D. Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is one of the main and most formidable antagonists in the One Piece pirate saga, created by manga artist Eiichiro Oda. Ambitious, patient and utterly unscrupulous, he upsets the balance of the world by seizing the Dark-Dark Fruit (Yami Yami no Mi) and then, during the Battle of Marineford, the Quake-Quake Fruit (Gura Gura no Mi).
