The enigmatic Wednesday Addams joins Funko’s Pop! Television collection in an original Patchwork version, accompanied by her faithful companion, The Thing. Inspired by the Netflix series *Wednesday*, this Pop! & Buddy set reimagines the two characters with a patchwork, mismatched look reminiscent of rag dolls.

Wednesday is depicted with her long black plaits and a dark, striped outfit. Her asymmetrical face is the standout feature of this edition: one side features a button-shaped eye marked with the letter ‘W’, whilst the other is decorated with patterns reminiscent of a spider’s web and visible stitching.

The main figurine is accompanied by a miniature version of The Thing, recognisable by its disembodied hand-like shape. This too features a patchwork finish, in a pale pink colour with several rows of stitching that blend it perfectly with Wednesday’s style.

Made from vinyl, the two figurines measure approximately 9.9 cm for Wednesday and 3 cm for The Thing respectively. They are presented together in a window box numbered 1942, allowing them to be displayed with or without their packaging.

Origin and character lore

Wednesday Addams is the daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams, members of the eccentric and macabre Addams Family. Intelligent, impassive and fascinated by all things related to death, she stands out for her particularly dark sense of humour, her outspokenness and her keen interest in unsettling investigations.

In the Netflix series *Wednesday*, the teenager is sent to Nevermore Academy, a school for marginalised young people with supernatural abilities. She tries to settle into her new school whilst investigating a series of crimes and the secrets surrounding her own family.

The Thing is a living, autonomous hand that regularly accompanies the Addams Family. Sent to Nevermore to keep an eye on Wednesday, it quickly becomes her most loyal partner. Capable of communicating through gestures, spying, picking certain locks and passing on messages, The Thing provides invaluable assistance with the young girl’s investigations.

Despite Wednesday’s solitary nature, a genuine bond develops between the two characters. The Thing acts as a confidant, assistant and friend, whilst Wednesday is particularly protective of him when he is under threat.
