Origin and background of the character
The characters Snoopy and his companion Woodstock originate from the famous American comic strip Peanuts, created by the author and cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in 1950. The story is set in an ordinary suburban neighbourhood and follows the everyday, sometimes philosophical, musings of a group of children and a dog with a vivid imagination. Snoopy is a beagle who refuses to lead the life of a typical pet, preferring to imagine himself in heroic roles such as that of a flying ace or an astronaut exploring the cosmos. This particular version pays tribute to the historic partnership signed in 1969 between Charles Schulz and NASA, which made Snoopy the official safety mascot for the Apollo missions. This figurine draws direct inspiration from that memorable design to celebrate the union of poetry and space exploration, ready to bring a touch of adventure and nostalgia to collectors’ shelves.- *
