Volume 1 summary:
Eugene Korekishi is about to enter high school in Kamakura, a Japanese city renowned for its paranormal phenomena. As a little scientific genius, he doesn't believe in these legends... until he is attacked by a spectre on the first day of school! He is narrowly saved by two friends: Mogari, a teenager capable of devouring ectoplasm, and Kaoru, a medium who is sensitive to spirits.

If Mogari, the descendant of an illustrious family of exorcists, was able to leave his village in the mountains, it was on condition that he hunt ghosts in Kamakura... But what he really wants is to enjoy his high school years! To combine business with pleasure, he decides to found a secret activity club with Eugene and Kaoru: the Phantom Busters!
