Origin and character background

Ectoplasma, known as Gengar in international versions, is a Ghost- and Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the final evolution of Fantominus, following Spectrum.

It is recognisable by its purple body, red eyes and broad, mischievous smile. Ectoplasma likes to hide in the shadows and play tricks on the people it meets, giving it a personality that is both eerie and playful.

In the National Pokédex, Ectoplasma is listed as number 094. It has become one of the most popular Ghost-type Pokémon in the franchise and appears regularly in video games, the animated series, trading cards and merchandise.

The design of this cap features its signature purple colour scheme and several direct references to the Pokédex, whilst adopting a more graphic rather than figurative style.
