Origin and background of the character
Ramoloss (known as Slowpoke in English) is an iconic pink quadruped of the Water and Psychic types, introduced in the very first generation of the global Pokémon franchise in 1996. Resembling a cross between a salamander and a hippopotamus, it is universally famous for its legendary slowness, its perpetually vacant stare and its offbeat reactions, sometimes taking several minutes to feel the pain of a bite on its tail. This famous tail, which secretes a highly prized sugary substance used as fishing bait, lies at the heart of its evolutionary cycle: when a Kokiyas gets caught on it, Ramoloss transforms into Flagadoss. Presented here in an imposing XL format, this peaceful companion perfectly embodies the humour, kindness and spirit of exploration found in the early video games of our childhood.
