Origin and world of the character

Zeo Ranger Gold is a character from the children's science fiction TV series Power Rangers Zeo, broadcast in 1996 and adapted from the Japanese Super Sentai series Chouriki Sentai Ohranger. In this universe, the Power Rangers draw their abilities from the Zeo crystals to defend the Earth against the Machine Empire led by King Mondo. The Golden Ranger has multiple identities in the course of the story: his powers initially belong to Trey, the prince of the planet Triforia. Following an injury that prevents him from maintaining his physical unity, he temporarily transfers his abilities to Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Ranger of the franchise. The character uses the Golden Power Staff as his main weapon to channel his energy in battle.
