Origin and background of the character
Released in 2009, the Disney animated film *The Princess and the Frog* transposes the famous European fairy tale to the vibrant setting of 1920s New Orleans. Prince Naveen of Maldonia, a young party-loving jazz enthusiast disinherited by his parents, arrives in Louisiana and is tricked by the sinister Dr Facilier, who transforms him into a frog. His encounter with the determined Tiana will change the course of his destiny. This exclusive figurine captures the prince at the very beginning of the film, in his dashing human form, as he cheerfully strolls through the streets of the French Quarter playing the ukulele. This piece celebrates his love of music and his legendary carefree spirit before his great coming-of-age adventure in the bayou.
