This collectable vinyl figure depicts the cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez, released by Funko as part of its Pop! Animation collection dedicated to the wacky characters from the adult animated series. Made entirely from PVC, it depicts the scientist wearing his usual white lab coat whilst holding a mysterious alien crystal skull in his hand. This design perfectly captures the spirit of cosmic adventure and the penchant for dangerous artefacts that characterise the character.

Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim, the animated science fiction series Rick and Morty follows the interdimensional misadventures of the genius but deeply nihilistic scientist Rick Sanchez and his impressionable grandson, Morty. Rick is an alcoholic inventor capable of travelling instantly across the multiverse using his portal gun. His utter disregard for social norms and safety constantly puts his own family in danger. The episode featuring the crystal skull makes direct reference to the quest for esoteric artefacts and alien technologies hidden at the far reaches of the galaxy, illustrating the chaotic and unpredictable daily life of this cult pop culture duo.
