Anya Forger is one of the central characters in the manga *Spy x Family*, written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endō, which was later adapted into a successful international animated series. The plot is set against the backdrop of a Cold War between two fictional nations, Ostania and Westalis. Anya is a six-year-old girl who is the product of secret scientific experiments, which have given her telepathic abilities enabling her to read other people’s thoughts. For the purposes of a major espionage mission, she is adopted by the secret agent ‘Twilight ’ (under the alias of psychiatrist Loid Forger), who is unaware of her powers, as is her adoptive mother Yor Briar, who turns out to be a professional hitwoman. Anya is the only member of the family unit who knows the secret of each of her adoptive parents, thanks to her psychic gift.
