The legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett joins Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Black Series collection in a version inspired by the 1985 animated series Star Wars: Droids. Featured for the first time in this range with his animation-inspired paint scheme, this figure recreates the character’s retro look from his encounter with R2-D2 and C-3PO on the planet Boonta.

Standing approximately 15 cm tall, the figure features detailed sculpting, a design inspired by the animation and multiple points of articulation. This allows it to strike various poses for pursuit, firing or combat whilst retaining the instantly recognisable silhouette of the famous mercenary.

Boba Fett wears his signature armour, complete with his helmet featuring a rangefinder visor, his cape and his jetpack. The deliberately stylised colour scheme is a direct nod to his appearance in the animated series and sets this edition apart from the realistic versions inspired by the films.

The figure comes with three accessories, including two blasters and a plastic collectable piece engraved with the character’s name and portrait. The weapons allow for a variety of poses, whilst the collectable piece pays homage to the accessories included with certain older Star Wars figures.

Character’s origin and backstory (Lore)

Boba Fett is one of the most famous and feared bounty hunters in the galaxy. He is an unmodified genetic clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, who raised him as his own son on the planet Kamino and passed on his knowledge of combat and martial arts to him from an early age.

Following Jango’s death during the Battle of Geonosis, Boba gradually followed in his footsteps. He worked for both major criminal organisations and the Galactic Empire, forging a reputation as a methodical, discreet and particularly effective mercenary.

His customised armour incorporates a range of equipment, including a helmet with a rangefinder visor and a communication system, as well as a jetpack enabling him to move and fight in the air over short distances. His varied arsenal and talent for tracking enable him to take on contracts considered too dangerous by most other bounty hunters.

In the original trilogy, Boba Fett is notably hired by Darth Vader to track down the Millennium Falcon. He manages to follow Han Solo to Cloud City, then delivers the smuggler, frozen in carbonite, to Jabba the Hutt.

The animated series *Star Wars: Droids*, which aired from 1985, recounts several adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO prior to the events of *Star Wars: A New Hope*. In the episode that inspired this figurine, the two droids travel to the planet Boonta for a speeder race and encounter Boba Fett whilst he is carrying out a new mission.
