Blue Toad retains his large white headdress adorned with blue polka dots, his smiling face and his little brown shoes. Here, he wears a light blue flying squirrel suit, recognisable by his rounded ears, his lighter-coloured belly and the fabric membrane connecting his arms to the rest of his body.

The long, striped tail at the back is one of the key features of this transformation. Together with the small side flaps, it evokes the character’s ability to glide over obstacles, extend his jumps and briefly cling to walls in the game.

Its details are woven directly into the fabric to ensure it remains soft and cuddly to the touch. Origin and character background (Lore)

Toads are the inhabitants of the Mushroom Kingdom and are among Princess Peach’s most loyal allies. They are distinguished by their large, mushroom-shaped headgear, the colours of which vary from one Toad to another. Blue Toad traditionally wears blue polka dots and regularly accompanies Mario and Luigi on their adventures.

In New Super Mario Bros. U, Blue Toad is one of the playable characters alongside Mario, Luigi and Yellow Toad. He possesses the same general abilities as his companions and can use the various power-ups found in the levels.

The Super Nut transforms the character into a flying squirrel. In this form, Blue Toad can glide after a jump, slow his descent and perform an aerial boost to gain height. He can also cling briefly to walls before continuing on his way.

This soft toy’s blue jumpsuit, the membranes under its arms and its large striped tail are direct references to this transformation. They evoke the aerial levels and platforming sequences where mastering gliding allows the player to reach secret passages, Star Coins and distant platforms.
