Imprisoned for three centuries in a prison of eternal ice by a legendary heroine, his fate changes irrevocably when he crosses paths with the little slime Rimuru. Befriending the creature, he agrees to be temporarily absorbed by its ‘Predator’ ability in order to analyse the magical seal from within. After his release, Rimuru creates a bespoke human clone for him to house his divine soul. Freed from his reptilian form, the dragon adopts this athletic appearance and spends most of his free time studying the earthly manga stored in Rimuru’s memory — which he regards as sacred grimoires —, copying the poses and techniques of Shōnen heroes whilst becoming the ultimate protector of the Tempest Federation.
