Origin and world of the character
The action of The Mandalorian live-action series is set within the official chronology of the Star Wars saga. The events are chronologically set five years after the destruction of the second Death Star described in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and before the advent of the First Order. The story centres on the journey of an independent bounty hunter from Mandalorian culture, operating alone in the remote territories of the galaxy, outside the direct influence of the New Republic. His career path changed during a specific mission when he accepted a contract to capture a vulnerable target: a child of the same mysterious species as Jedi Master Yoda, named Grogu. Ultimately refusing to hand the creature over to his sponsors affiliated with the remnants of the Empire, the warrior chooses to protect the child and embark on a journey across the galaxy to bring him back to his family.
