The plot of the live-action TV series The Mandalorian takes place chronologically five years after the fall of the Empire in the original trilogy(Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) and before the advent of the First Order. The story follows a freelance Mandalorian bounty hunter operating in remote areas of the galaxy outside the control of the New Republic. At the start of the story, he is tasked with capturing a fifty-year-old biological target known as "L'Enfant". Belonging to the same unknown extraterrestrial species as Jedi Master Yoda and endowed with a strong sensitivity to the Force, this character (later named Grogu) is placed under the Mandalorian's protection against the Imperial remnants who are trying to seize him. The pose with the cup refers to a scene from season 1 that has become a recurring meme, where the character calmly observes a confrontation while drinking soup broth.
