Origin and character’s universe
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a masterpiece of stop-motion animation released in 1993, born from the imagination of Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick. The story follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, who stumbles upon Christmas Town and decides to bring the festive spirit home, even if it means causing some merry chaos. On his quest, he must face Oogie Boogie, a malevolent bogeyman made up of thousands of sadistic insects, an inveterate gambler who holds Father Christmas captive in his gambling den. This duo captures the central conflict and the gothic, poetic aesthetic of this timeless Disney classic.
