This series of collectable keyrings draws its inspiration directly from a Chinese play on words associated with the horse and wishes for happiness.

Origin and concept of ‘Ma Shang You – Good Things Are Coming’

This collection is the result of a collaboration between the designer toy manufacturer TOY CLUB and the Chinese artist Bu2Ma. Its concept is based on the expression ‘Ma Shang You’, used here as a play on words involving the Chinese character for ‘horse’ and the idea that something positive is about to happen.

The series was conceived in a spirit of luck, happiness and prosperity, in keeping with the themes ofthe Year of the Horse. Each model thus represents a different wish: fortune, money, luck, happiness or material success.

The blind bag concept adds an extra dimension to this symbolism: opening each one literally becomes the discovery of a ‘good thing’ to come, whilst the secret design is the most sought-after variant in the collection.

With its six standard designs and one hidden model, ‘Good Things Are Coming’ blends designer toys, reimagined traditional lucky charms and contemporary collectable accessories.
