Optimus Prime is reproduced with his massive silhouette, his helmet featuring long side antennae, and his armour composed of numerous overlapping mechanical plates. The metallic red, blue and silver hues are complemented by the famous flame-shaped motifs visible on several parts of his body.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, a faction of Transformers opposed to the Decepticons and determined to protect innocent life forms. Renowned for his courage, sense of duty and commitment to freedom, he is one of the central figures of the franchise.

In the film universe, Optimus usually takes the form of a lorry when he transforms. His robotic appearance combines the red and blue colours of his bodywork with an imposing mechanical structure designed for combat.

In *Transformers: The Last Knight*, Optimus leaves Earth to find Cybertron and understand the role he may have played in the destruction of his home planet. He then encounters Quintessa, an entity who presents herself as his creator.

Quintessa takes control of his mind and temporarily transforms him into Nemesis Prime. Under her influence, his eyes turn purple and his behaviour changes radically. He is tasked with retrieving Merlin’s Staff, a powerful Cybertronian artefact capable of restoring Cybertron at the expense of Earth.

Back on Earth, Optimus faces off against several of his former allies, including Bumblebee. Their battle is one of the film’s central moments. Bumblebee’s voice and memories of their long friendship ultimately enable Optimus to free himself from Quintessa’s influence.

Once he has regained his true self, he resumes leadership of the Autobots and takes part in the final assault aimed at preventing the destruction of Earth. His sword and knight’s armour play an important role in these close-quarters battles.

Optimus’s appearance in *The Last Knight* differs from the character’s more traditional incarnations. His armour features more organic and medieval lines, whilst his equipment is reminiscent of that of a Cybertronian knight.
