Origin and character’s universe

In Zatch Bell!, a hundred demon children are sent to the human world to take part in a tournament to decide the next king of their world. Each must find a human partner capable of reading the spells written in their spellbook.

Kanchome teams up with the Italian singer Parco Folgore. Initially particularly timid and lacking in self-confidence, he often prefers to flee from battle and considers himself weaker than the other contestants.

His spells mainly involve transformation, illusions and the creation of doubles. Their effectiveness depends less on brute force than on his imagination and his ability to deceive his opponents.

As the story unfolds, Kanchome grows in courage and learns to use his powers to protect his friends. His relationship with Folgore, built on trust and encouragement, enables him to become a far more determined fighter.
