Origin and world of the character

This colourful set comes from the famousCare Bears children's franchise, originally created in 1981 by American Greetings to illustrate greetings cards, before becoming a cult animated TV series produced by Nelvana Studios in the 1980s. The story takes place in the magical, suspended kingdom of Care-A-Lot, a land built on clouds and linked by rainbows, where each bear has a unique symbol on its belly revealing its personality and powers of empathy. At the heart of this kingdom stands the majestic Care Bear Castle. This fantastic edifice is watched over by Bedtime Bear (Grosdodo), the blue bear with the nocturnal crescent moon motif. Charged with watching over children's sleep and chasing away nightmares, he brings the calm and courage needed to face the night, making this set a real concentrate of nostalgia and the goodwill of retro animated series.
