Created by Tom Ruegger and produced by Steven Spielberg in the 1990s, the cult animated series *Animaniacs* features the Warner brothers (Yakko and Wakko) and their sister (Dot). Conceived during the golden age of animation, these unruly and undisciplined characters were locked away in the famous water tower at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank due to their infectious madness, before escaping to wreak havoc on film sets.

Yakko is the eldest and the self-proclaimed leader of the trio. Inspired by the style and comic flair of Groucho Marx, he is characterised by his lightning-fast comebacks, sharp wit and ability to talk non-stop, driving those he speaks to mad (notably the studio’s psychiatrist, Dr Scratchansniff). He is also famous for his educational, catchy songs that have remained etched in people’s memories, such as his performance listing all the countries of the world.
