The character of Shunsui Kyoraku comes from the famous shōnen manga Bleach, written and drawn by Tite Kubo, and more specifically from its acclaimed animated adaptation Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (TYBW). The overall plot centres on the age-old, merciless battle between the Shinigami (Soul Society's soul reapers) and the Quincy army led by the ruthless Yhwach. Within Gotei 13, Shunsui Kyoraku first stands out as the nonchalant, eccentric, sake-swilling captain of the 8th Division, proudly wearing his traditional straw hat and pink kimono with floral motifs. Behind his lazy, peaceful demeanour lies a formidable fighter and a tactician of exceptional finesse. Wielding a unique double Zanpakutō (Katen Kyōkotsu), his power and wisdom lead him to take on heavy responsibilities in this all-out war to save Soul Society and the human world from chaos.
