Chicago Bulls — POP! NBA No. 235 Michael Jordan ‘6th Ring’

Celebrate the culmination of the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty with this POP! NBA No. 235 Michael Jordan ‘6th Ring’ figurine . Designed by Funko, it depicts the legendary number 23 celebrating his sixth NBA championship title, won at the end of the 1997–1998 season.

Michael Jordan is depicted in the Chicago Bulls’ iconic red kit. The jersey features the team name on the chest alongside his famous number 23, rendered in white with a black outline. The matching shorts feature the black and white trim of the kit worn by the franchise during that period.

The pose is the main narrative element of this edition. Jordan raises one open hand, showing five fingers, whilst the other hand has a raised index finger. Together, they form the number six, symbolising the six NBA championship rings won by the player with Chicago.

The figurine also features his knee pads and black basketball trainers, accented with red detailing. A black bracelet is visible on his left wrist. His shaved head, pronounced eyebrows and upright posture make the player instantly recognisable despite the stylisation characteristic of the POP! range.

Player’s background and career

Michael Jordan is one of the most important figures in the history of basketball. A guard for the Chicago Bulls, he stood out for his athleticism, his offensive prowess, his defence and his ability to decide the outcome of matches at the most crucial moments.

He joined the Bulls in 1984 and quickly became the face of the franchise. After several seasons of progress and tough playoff battles, Chicago won its first NBA championship in 1991.

This first title was followed by two further victories in 1992 and 1993. The Bulls thus achieved their first ‘three-peat’, a term referring to three consecutive championships. Jordan was named Finals MVP on each of these occasions.

After retiring for the first time and spending some time playing baseball, he returned to the NBA in 1995. The very next season, the Bulls were back on top and won three more consecutive titles in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

The 1997–98 season marked the culmination of this second run of championships. Despite injuries and uncertainty surrounding the team’s future, Chicago finished the regular season with 62 wins. Michael Jordan went on to win his fifth MVP award and his tenth scoring title.

The Bulls once again faced the Utah Jazz in the NBA Finals. In Game 6, Chicago led the series three wins to two, but found themselves trailing in the final seconds. Jordan first scored a basket, then stole the ball from Karl Malone, before scoring the shot that put the Bulls ahead with 5.2 seconds remaining. Chicago won the match 87–86 and clinched their sixth championship in eight seasons.

Jordan finished the final game with 45 points and was named Finals MVP for the sixth time. This victory completed a second ‘three-peat’ and brought his personal tally to six titles, all won with the Chicago Bulls.

His final shot against the Jazz became one of the most famous moments of his career: after creating space in front of Bryon Russell, Jordan kept his right hand raised as the ball went through the hoop. At the time, this moment seemed to mark the definitive end of his time in a Chicago jersey, although he would later return to play for the Washington Wizards.

The name ‘6th Ring’ refers to this sixth championship ring, won in 1998. The pose chosen by Funko does not directly replicate the decisive shot, but encapsulates the entire dynasty: one hand for the first five titles and an extra finger for the championship that completed the Bulls’ second three-peat.
