Misa Amane is a leading character in the manga and animated adaptation Social Thriller and fantasy Death Note, created by scriptwriter Tsugumi Ōba and illustrator Takeshi Obata. A model and popular idol, her trajectory changes when she comes into possession of a second Death Note notebook and makes a pact to obtain the "Shinigami Eyes", an ability that allows her to discern the name and lifespan of any individual with a simple glance. Devoted as she is to Light Yagami (Kira), whom she sees as her saviour, she establishes herself as the "Second Kira".
