Nezuko is depicted leaning forwards, her arms spread wide as if she were leaping towards her opponent. The movement of her clothes and her long black hair accentuates the dynamism of the composition and reflects her instinctive fighting style, based on speed, kicks and her demonic strength.

The sculpture features her iconic outfit: a pink kimono decorated with asanoha geometric patterns, held in place by a red and green obi, as well as a dark brown haori flowing behind her. Her green bamboo stick is held in front of her mouth, whilst her pink eyes and focused expression emphasise her determination.

Character background and lore

Nezuko Kamado is Tanjiro’s younger sister. Their lives are turned upside down when their family is massacred by Muzan Kibutsuji and Nezuko is transformed into a demon. Despite this transformation, she resists her predatory instincts and retains a deep affection for her brother, as well as a powerful desire to protect human beings.

To prevent her from biting anyone, Nezuko wears a piece of bamboo over her mouth. She usually travels sheltered from the sun inside a box carried by Tanjiro, as demons are normally unable to withstand daylight.

Her transformation grants her considerable physical strength, accelerated regeneration and the ability to alter her body’s size. She also develops a Blood Demon Art called ‘Explosive Blood’, capable of setting her own blood alight without harming humans, whilst damaging demons or their techniques.

Throughout the story, Nezuko steps in on several occasions to save Tanjiro and his allies. Her ability to retain her humanity despite her demonic nature is one of the series’ great mysteries and represents Tanjiro’s hope of finding a cure capable of restoring her to her human form for good.

The leaping pose of this figurine perfectly highlights this combative side of the character: behind her gentle and quiet demeanour lies a protector capable of unleashing formidable power when her brother or innocent people are threatened.
