Character background and lore

Shinobu Kocho is one of the Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps. A specialist in the Insect Breath technique, she compensates for her lack of physical strength when decapitating demons with her exceptional mastery of wisteria-based poisons. Her uniquely shaped sword is designed to inject these substances directly into her opponents’ bodies.

Although always smiling and gentle in appearance, Shinobu harbours a deep anger stemming from the loss of her elder sister, Kanae. An accomplished physician and head of the Butterfly Domain, she tends to wounded Demon Slayers whilst training Kanao Tsuyuri. Her intelligence, speed and scientific approach to combat make her one of the most unique characters in Demon Slayer.
