Origin and character’s universe
Released in 2002, the Disney animated classic Lilo & Stitch tells the story of Experiment 626, an alien creature genetically engineered to destroy everything it touches. Washed up on the island of Hawaii, this little blue monster is adopted by Lilo, a lonely young girl who renames him Stitch and teaches him the concept of ‘Ohana’, which means that no one should be left behind or forgotten. This irresistible design shows Stitch getting up to one of his many mischievous antics, dressing up or hiding inside a pineapple – a perfect nod to the tropical, sunny and humour-filled atmosphere of the Disney film.
