A former pupil at the same transformation school as his rival Plume, he possesses the unique ability to transform into any object or living creature, although his powers last for only five consecutive minutes before he needs a rest. Initially introduced as a cowardly and opportunistic village tyrant, he is quickly defeated by Son Goku and Bulma. Oolong then joins their group and becomes a loyal companion on their epic journey, albeit one who is reluctant to face danger. He cemented his place in pop culture history by making the very first wish to the dragon Shenron, thereby thwarting the plans of the fearsome Emperor Pilaf.
