Vault Boy is the mascot of Vault-Tec Corporation, the company behind the famous underground vaults in the Fallout universe. He appears in the company’s advertising materials with a consistently cheerful and reassuring demeanour, typical of the 1950s American retro aesthetic that characterises the franchise.

In the games, Vault Boy is notably used to represent the various S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, skills, perks and numerous gameplay situations. His illustrations often play on a deliberate contrast between his enthusiastic expression and situations that are extremely dangerous, absurd or violent.
