Character origin and lore

Oberon appears in the Lostbelt No. 6: Avalon the Fae chapter of Fate/Grand Order. He presents himself as the fairy king from literary tradition and as an ally capable of guiding the protagonists through fairy Britain. Charismatic and elusive, he nevertheless conceals an identity and intentions far more complex than his benevolent appearance would suggest.

In the game, Oberon is a five-star Servant belonging to the Pretender class, a category reserved for beings whose identity, role or very existence is based on significant concealment. He was the first playable Servant of this class to be introduced in Fate/Grand Order.

His character is notably inspired by Oberon, King of the Fairies from William Shakespeare’s play *A Midsummer Night’s Dream*, but also incorporates elements linked to Vortigern and the mythical history of Britain. This dual nature—part fairy guide, part hidden threat—makes him one of the most striking and enigmatic characters in the Avalon the Fae arc.
