Introduced in the television series Futurama created by Matt Groening, Hermes Conrad is a level 36 (then 37) Jamaican bureaucrat who holds the position of administrative and financial manager at the interplanetary delivery company Planet Express. Characterised by a rigid obsession with following procedures, filing forms and optimising costs, he manages the company's expenditure with an iron fist, while moderating Professor Farnsworth's eccentricity. Apart from his passion for tax administration and coffee, Hermes is also a former Olympic limbo champion, a sport he gave up after a dramatic incident before reusing his flexible skills to save his colleagues on several occasions.
